Privacy Policy

Trackside Railway is an independent, fan-made Roblox experience. This page explains what personal data this website collects, why, and what happens to it. It only covers this website (tracksiderailway.co.uk) — Roblox itself, and the Trackside Railway game, have their own separate privacy practices governed by Roblox Corporation.
Signing in with Roblox
If you use the "Sign in with Roblox" button, we receive your Roblox UserId, username, and avatar image from Roblox's own sign-in system (OAuth). This is used only to:
- Show you your own in-game stats on the "Your account" page
- Check your rank in our Roblox group, to determine whether you have staff access
This information is held in a temporary session tied to your browser and is cleared when you sign out or when the session naturally expires. We don't maintain a separate database of who has signed in.
Your in-game stats
The stats shown on your account page (points, routes, trains, etc.) already exist in the Trackside Railway game's own data storage — this website simply reads and displays them back to you when you're signed in as yourself. It doesn't create new data about you beyond what the game already stores while you play.
Staff moderation tools
A small number of trusted staff, identified by their rank in our Roblox group, can look up and edit any player's stored game data through a staff-only page. This exists purely for fixing bugs and moderating the game (e.g. correcting a stuck purchase) — it is not used to monitor players' activity outside of that.
Bug reports
The bug report form collects your Roblox username, a category, a description, and — only if you choose to attach them — screenshots. An email address is optional and only needed if you'd like a reply.
Submitted reports are sent directly to a private Discord channel used by the development team, using a Discord webhook. They are not stored anywhere else on this website. Once in Discord, that data is subject to Discord's own retention and privacy practices as the message history of that server.
Cookies
This site uses a single functional session cookie to keep you signed in after using "Sign in with Roblox." It does not use advertising or analytics cookies, and we don't run any third-party tracking or advertising scripts on this site.
Who else sees this data
- Roblox Corporation — handles the sign-in process and provides the group rank/DataStore information this site reads.
- Discord Inc. — hosts the channel that bug reports are sent to.
We don't sell or share your data with anyone else.
Children's privacy
Roblox has its own age requirements and protections for younger users, which this site relies on rather than duplicating. If you're a parent or guardian with a concern about a child's data on this site, please contact us using the details below and we'll help.
Your choices
You can sign out at any time to end your session. If you'd like a bug report you submitted removed from our Discord, or have any other question about your data, contact us using the details below.
Changes to this policy
If what this site collects changes, we'll update this page. Since this is a small independent project rather than a company, we don't expect frequent changes.
Contact
Questions about this policy or your data can be sent to contact@tracksiderailway.com, or via our Discord server.
